I am a bit late on the OCC Lip Tar train but better late than never right? I’d like to think so!
I first spotted these mysterious little tubes about a year ago at Sephora. And perhaps not wanting to get sidetracked with my already beauty-obsessed brain, I turned a blind eye…until recently.
Finally relenting, I picked up a few colors and haven’t looked back. My personal favorites are Kava Kava (a peachy nude) and Memento (a pinky nude) (*is it obvious that I’m a nude lippie addict?) I also really like mixing colors and adding a bit of a brighter color to spruce up these nudes if I want a bit more color. Grandma (bright coral) and Harlot (bright red) are colors that do the trick for me.
Already a long-time favorite of many makeup artists, beauty bloggers and fellow makeup junkies, OCC Lip Tars first debuted in Fall 2008. They are vegan, cruelty free and crazy pigmented. The texture is unlike anything else on the market. It feels light and feathery on the lips. With ingredients like peppermint oil, hemp oil and vitamin e, this unique lip product packs an intensely pigmented, minty punch. Best applied with a lip brush (it comes with a tiny one in the package), the tiniest amount – the size of a grain of rice- will sufficiently saturate your lips with color.
It is recommended that you either use a small dab of their Clear Lip Tar (or a touch of lip balm) before applying color. I have found these to be long-lasting and very comfortable to wear as well as having a fabulous color range with great color payoff.
If you are a lipstick junkie like me and you haven’t tried these OCC Lip Tars yet, run, don’t walk! Or if you’re like me at first and you must turn a blind eye temporarily, then perhaps just walk very slowly….
